Raised in South Central Los Angeles, with an immense love for music, BIZNESS, born Robert McDonald, is paving his own lane in the “rap game”. Growing up in the West Adams district of Los Angles, where gang banging dominated the youth’s activities, BIZNESS, took pride in his education, and found music as an outlet which in turn, he found his voice. He also found a safe haven in the movement, BLOCKSTARS, founded in 2001 by Dawayne “Status” Cotton, a movement which was formed for friends fighting to survive while the death rate rose in their community. BLOCKSTARS stands for: “Black Leaders Overcoming Criticism with the Knowledge to Succeed Through All Restrictions”. The movement has grown to hundreds of members, which has overflowed into five other states as well as Canada. Growing up with respect for artist such as Jadakiss, Lauren Hill, and Tupac, BIZNESS can be described as a lyrical mixture of many genres. His music embraces life’s struggles with a positive mindset and turning his tragedies into triumphs.
In 2001, he released his first solo mixtape “Good Measure” which was recorded in Canada. He followed up with features on the “Blockstar Everything” mixtape hosted by DJ Goonie. His Second Solo Mixtape the Highly Anticipated “GroundWerk” was released August 2012 on Datpiff.com. Groundwerk, Hosted By La’s Hottest Hip Hop and R&B Station Power 106’s DJ Carisma along with “Rack City” Producer Dj Mustard, is B!zness most successful project yet. It allowed him the opportunity to collaborate on singles such as “I Do It” Feat Problem and “Roll Up” Feat the West Coast Legend Kurupt.
Currently B!zness is switching gears after hopping off a 5 City Tour in Japan along side of Label Mate/Producer Disko Boogie on The “Disko Boogie Japan Tour”. Be On the Look for future upcoming projects From B!zness.
